Towards smarter and more sustainable mobility
The Automotive, Mobility and Transport sector is one of the most important industrial pillars in Europe, with strong export capacity, a high level of technological innovation, and an extensive value chain. We are talking about the mobility ecosystem, which includes the automotive, logistics, maritime-naval, railway, and aerospace sectors.
At FI Group, we support investment and R&D&I initiatives for companies by land, sea, and air.
Challenges and Opportunities
The mobility and transport industry in Spain is undergoing a profound structural, technological, and regulatory transformation, driven by three major strategic pillars:
- Electrification and decarbonisation of mobility: the transition to zero-emission technologies—such as electric vehicles, green hydrogen, sustainable biofuels, and hybrid solutions—is key to meeting European climate targets (Fit for 55, ETS, ReFuelEU, FuelEU Maritime, etc.) and strengthening industrial competitiveness.
- Digitalisation and automation of the mobility system: the integration of technologies such as AI, advanced robotics, and big data is revolutionising all modes of mobility and transport—from automated manufacturing to the intelligent operation of infrastructures and fleets (smart ports, rail 4.0, predictive logistics, etc.).
- Connected, multimodal and sustainable mobility: new models of urban and regional mobility—such as electric micromobility, connected public transport, intermodal solutions, and autonomous transport—are redefining how people and goods move, promoting more agile, efficient, and sustainable logistics.
